Stem cell bank Pokrovski ltd. was established in January, 2007. In January 2009 we started working as Stem Cell Bank Pokrovski. We are glad to gather unique team consisting of scientists, biologist, doctors, who currently create progressive medical technologies in the Russian Federation. Stem cell bank Pokrovski is the most high-tech institution of Russia in the field of medicine.

We develop cell and gene technologies. There is a lack of knowledge in the field of cell technologies because rather often the attitude to activity in the field is negative. One of the aims of out team is to increase the awareness of society about gene and cell technologies. We make presentations at congresses, conferences, symposiums among doctors, hospitals and maternity houses. We work in collaboration with the Laboratory of Cell Technologies of St-Petersburg Medical Academy of Postgraduate Studies, Raisa Gorbacheva Memorial Institute of Children Hematology and Transplantation and «Skolkovo» foundation, where we take part in innovative projects.

At present Stem cell bank Pokrovski provides private storing of cord blood stem cells. We organized the first in Russia Cord blood stem cells registry for 10.000 samples with performing HLA-typing. We are able to provide cord blood stem cells for transplantation for treatment of oncohematological diseases.

We work with bone marrow and adipose tissue mesenchymal stem cells, fibroblasts. It helps restore the heath of people and provides them with biological insurance. We also perform gene diagnostic with high level of resolution using sequencing. At Stem cell bank Pokrovski it is possible to detect mutation in genes responsible for predisposition to sport. We created the laboratory of cytogenetics for karyotyping to control the growth of cells.

Also there is the laboratory of telomere length measurement. This permits to determine the age of a patient on DNA level and to make qualified choice of cord blood sample for transplantation.

Stem cell bank Pokrovski has unique possibility to diagnose and improve the health of people. The Russian Federation accepts very important law «About biomedical cell technologies, which will help to solve some problems in the field of biotechnology. One of the goals of Stem cell bank Pokrovski is the distribution of experience and knowledge of the huge potential of stem cells at present and for future among doctors and population.

Stem cell bank Pokrovski is the pioneer in this industry and its role is to develop this direction in saint-Petersburg and the North-Western region of the Russian Federation. Today cell technologies are very important for regenerative therapy used for treatment of patients worldwide.
